Ok maybe i'll say a few more things... Parascandalo is a designer brand from malta, headed by the talented Marco Parascandalo. At this year's fashion week, when Marco and I were discussing how to shoot backstage he said "This year (with Marco wearing head-to-toe black at the time).. shoot in colour please, i'm going to have a lot of colour this year". He was not kidding :)
For the campaign, Marco suggested the Cospicua waterfront, which has amazing geometric shapes as well as a fantastically neutral set of tones. This provided a playground of shadows and texture for me, and also allowed the bright colours of his collection to really take centre stage.

This technique can be easily created by mixing flash and ambient light. Simply set a 1-3 second exposure and make sure that this gives you an image underexposed by at least 1 stop. Add flash and let the camera use TTL or set manually if you're using strobes.
